Passive Internet Income – The Reality of an Average Person Creating a Passive Internet Income

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

The definition of “passive” as relating to “passive internet income” is: 1) inactive, but acted upon, 2) offering no resistance, submissive.

The “act” being your initial work and the “inactive” and the “offering no resistance” being the continuing results from that work.

Another way to say it is “Do something once, get paid twice.”

In the case of passive internet income, you receive income from work that you have done in the past.
You are no longer trading one hour of time for a dollar amount or one year of time (salary) for a dollar amount.

Traditionally, with owning a brick and mortar business, the high cost of purchasing or starting a business is deemed too great a risk for the average person. That along with all of the extra time and effort required to get the business profitable and stable hinders most people from even thinking about starting their own business.

The internet has changed nearly everything about business and has opened up opportunities that were not available even a few years ago.

The average person now has a realistic chance of creating a passive internet income within a few short years!

The internet is still something vast and complicated so many people’s main concern about starting an internet business, especially something that will produce a passive income, is ” What If I Don’t Know Anything?”

Here we need to be realistic!

We all have to learn things when we start a new job, have a child, learn how to drive a car or how to tie a shoe!

Learning never really ends in our lifetime and that’s a great thing.

We start a new job, and even if we have the same job title, there are many things that we must adjust to. There are new people, new computer programs, new processes, new health insurance, new co-workers, new bosses, new job descriptions…the question is are you really thinking about a passive internet income as if you are starting another job?

Or are you thinking that it should be simple and easy to immediately make a passive internet income by just showing up?

Being open to learning new things is vital when choosing to create your passive internet income.

I’ve been very interested in learning all I can about the internet and all of the possibilities it offers to the average person.

When I started…and I’m not even slightly kidding…I didn’t know anything. I didn’t know what a URL, or a Twitter or a Blog or a keyword or anything was! It was really scary how little I knew.
Yet…I still jumped in! Why? Because I saw the possibilities and wanted a passive internet income!

Fortunately, for me, I didn’t have many choices at the time. After two weeks of searching I realized that there were, literally, a million ways to make money online and I decided that I was not going to let this opportunity pass me by!

Your Internet Business Plan Must Build a Loyal Customer Base

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

A good Internet business plan must address the issue of how to get and keep a band of loyal customers. Your Internet business needs loyal customers who will visit your web site regularly and buy from you time and time again. Remember that building a great customer base does not happen overnight, nor does it happen by accident.

Here are some suggested actions for inclusion within you Internet business plan to help build and grow a loyal customer base:

1. Ensure your web pages have great content. Customers are looking for websites that will provide them with the information they want, in a format that is exciting, modern and easily accessed. Do your research, allow time to regularly hunt down new information and provide good interesting copy.

2. Have Genuine Respect for your Customers and Build Trust. This is fundamental to the way you think about your customers and should permeate through you Internet business plan. If your attitude is that visitors are simply there to be sold to and your web pages just provide an onslaught of one sales pitch after another, your business will never get out of the starting blocks.

Customers need to know that any products that you are selling or promoting are products that will give them real benefit. Your web site needs to build trust. Provide your customers with really useful information and links to other web sites that will be of value to your visitors. And don’t only include affiliate links. You want the customer to see that you are not using every opportunity to make money out of them.

When it is clear to your customers that you are going out of your way to give to them and share other great information sites with them, it will be much easier for them to buy from you. Your website is your vehicle for developing your relationship with your customers and building trust. Visitors will become customers when they know that they can trust you and have the assurance that you would only sell something that you believed would benefit them.

3. Be the Best you can be at Customer Service. This is another essential part of any Internet business plan. Be assured that things will go wrong. Customers will get the wrong goods, goods will arrive damaged or simply fail to arrive. Make sure customers know that if they have to contact your customer service department, it will be a pleasant experience, not one of stress and confrontation.

Believe me, this does matter. If you have an unpleasant experience with customer service you will go out of your way to avoid dealing with that company again. On the other hand, if the company messes up and is then very apologetic, fixes the problem in the nicest possible way, chances are that you will become a loyal customer and probably tell your friends how pleased you are with them.

A key objective of your Internet business plan should be to make your Internet businesses stand out from the crowd and build a great customer base. I wish you every success.
