Since 9/11 the economy has really been pretty volatile in many ways and it really hit home since my focus at the time was in manufacturing and mainly involved CNC programming and machining. I was working for a fairly large to mid sized company that had job shop type contracts and no real product line of there own. This ended up being quite a precarious situation to be in as I’m sure was so many other avenues of work and income for many of you reading this. I was forced to look else where, no one was hiring, it was like a job freeze had taken place everywhere I looked. It felt like it was time for a change.

Time’s are like that now and even worse in many ways.

I was no longer young, with very little responsibilities. NO. not me, I had a family to support, bills to pay and was facing real problems. I looked at many different things and found out after trying many different jobs that I no longer had the desire and energy to work in a labor type job as I had gotten quite a bit older and my body isn’t what it use-to be. A good friend of mine suggested selling stuff on the internet, he had sold some stuff and while he didn’t get rich he was able to supplement some of his income. But I didn’t know what to do. Not too sure about where to get started so I went on a major search of how to do it and what all was involved.

There are literally tons of different internet money making opportunities to choose from. More over, there are some not so good ones as well. “PLEASE use due diligence when looking for “home based internet businesses”. It was not long before I found a variety of money making business opportunities as my search went on. However it occurred to me that I was still on my own in many respects and felt it was like re-inventing the wheel. There had to be a way of learning what the really successful people have done and how they got started. I really got excited about how they are easy startup businesses compared to having to have lots capital and setting up a store at your local town center shopping mall. Besides that I didn’t have any real money to invest in a business like that. heck I was trying to figure out how I could keep my apartment let alone invest in a new business.

I needed an internet money making opportunity, but one with integrity and one that was being taught by a top “Guru” in the field, not only that but I wanted to learn the methods they used and not have to re-invent the wheel. I finely found one, and the exciting part was this gentleman had been in the news and has been thru what felt like to me as similar struggles to my own. It felt like we had a common frame of reference on trials in life, which helped me to be more comfortable learning from him. He had experienced his tough times too. I don’t know about you, but this gave him recognition in my mind.

Find yourself a “Guru” to learn from, I can’t stress that enough if you’re looking for internet money making opportunities. If you decide to start an on line business do it right, fellow the rules and please DO NOT SPAM your potential customers and follow the Federal Trade Commission laws. While one can earn money through internet one must be real and realize that just because one person is making a lot of money doesn’t guarantee that you will. That’s where being tenacious in your efforts can make all the difference. I know how scary it can feel, not knowing what to do and how to do it. Start by making it into small pieces one thing after the other.

I know a lot of people like to focus on the BIG picture but what I found worked best for me was to do a small realistic list and move on and do it over and over till I came to the BIG picture. Look, if you were to interview most successful people and asked “what did you do everyday to get where they are”? They would more than likely tell you that they did ordinary everyday stuff. and they will probably go on to say they still do ordinary everyday stuff. That’s the key to success in anything in my life. just keep doing the daily stuff, going in the direction of the day’s goals. One of the things I did today was write this to share with you. It can really be that simple.
