The 5 Evils That Can Kill Your Success in Internet Marketing

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

Your journey to Internet marketing success is fraught with dangers. There are five evils you will confront along the way. They will stop you from reaching your destination. The overcomer in you must slay these evils.

#Evil 1: Procrastination. The first evil is procrastination. This is putting things off until tomorrow instead of doing it now, for various reasons: We are lazy; we are tired; we are overwhelmed; we are stressed; the task is boring; it takes too much time; it is hard to do; etc. Procrastination is actually a result of poor time management.

It is only when the pain of NOT doing that thing outweighs the pain of doing it that we take action. But as Internet marketers we all have only 24 hours, and what we do with this time has a direct impact on our bank account.

So if you’re struggling with a task that’s too big and keep procrastinating because you feel overwhelmed only when thinking about it – what you can do is to break the task into small baby steps. Map out the day’s output in a to-do list. Think in terms of systems. Finish the list first before you do other things. And stick to this. There’s no magic bullet.

Another killer tip is to “eat your frog first.” The ugliest, hardest, most disconcerting task you have on your list should be done first thing in the morning, right after finishing your morning rituals. Most people get more things done in the first hour of the morning than during the rest of the day. That is because you’re full of energy, more focused and clear-minded.

#Evil 2: Lack of Strategic Planning. Just hoping for maximum returns with minimum effort won’t work. Have a plan and stick to it. Think in terms of purpose – where you want to get and how to get there. And give this process your undivided attention.

Have a business plan. Learn the trade. Take Internet marketing courses. Read ebooks and reports – specifically to answer your questions. Whatever you do, you know you are doing it with a clear purpose, focus, and the end goal in mind.

#Evil 3: Lack of Clarity. Most newbies that come to the online marketing arena start by not knowing where they are and where they are going. They are overloaded with information on how to make money. They jump from one idea to another. They do many things at once and the result is they cannot do anything right. There is a lack of clarity in what they should do.

Be clear what your goals are and the end result you want to achieve. Work out the process backwards. What does it take to reach your dream? Focus on one strategy. Stick to one business model. Make no mistake: an Internet marketing business takes hard work and dedication. Don’t give up too soon and you will see results and reap the rewards in the end.

#Evil 4: Lack of a Business Mindset. This is probably the most subtle, yet extremely important. Many newbies have the idea that Internet marketing is the quick and easy way to get rich. They want a proven formula for making money handed to them on a silver platter. And boy, the internet marketing niche is filled with such offers promising overnight riches. So they think that they can quickly put up a website and the money will come pouring in automatically. Only the scammers promise you a fast track to getting rich. The truth is that you have to work hard for it, and – surprise – treat your business like a real business. Because that’s what it is!

Internet marketing is a real business. Like any other venture, one must set aside a few hours a day for work, setting goals, completing them on time, working with a budget, and staying focused on tweaking the system that drives your business and brings you money.

#Evil 5: Lack of Focus. It is very easy to get sucked into buying courses that promise to make you an unrealistic amount of money in the shortest time. It takes motivation to stay focused on doing one business model, one strategy, one niche. Master one thing well before you hop on to the next.

If you try to do too many things at once, you will never spend enough time promoting them, and then you’ll get frustrated with the result. So focus on one or two businesses and put all your time into them. When sales are not coming your way, persevere and keep yourself motivated.

Overcome the five evils and you will be on your way to Internet marketing success. Suffering from procrastination, lack of motivation, lack of focus and entrepreneurial ADHD? The Number 1 Mind Secret to Internet Marketing Success

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

This is the most important ingredient to your Internet marketing success. Before you learn about market research, product creation, or marketing, you must master this one thing first – it’s what we call Internet marketing MINDSET.

Very subtle, yet so powerful – the mindset is the very foundation for your online success. Do you think that successful marketers who make 10 times more money than you are 10 times smarter than you? Of course not. The secret is in their mindset.

If you read stories of successful Internet marketers, one thing they all have in common is that they adopt a success-oriented mindset.

Everyone, whether rich or poor, smart or stupid, are given the same resource – 24 hours a day. Look at the participants in any training. They are given the same training and receive the same textbook. Yet some are way more successful than others. Why is that? The difference lies in the Internet marketing mindset.

Mindset is EVERYTHING! It is responsible for action, and action translates into wealth.

I would like you to take home these short and sweet, positive mindset ideas, just as a starting point:

# 1: Your past is not your present or future. Your past is past. You cannot change it. Your past does not represent your present. It does not define your future. You learn from your past mistakes. You are now wiser. Move on. You can change your future.

# 2: You are the master of your destiny. “You are the captain of your soul,” as they say. You can control your life’s destination. Nobody in the world can make you feel bad without your permission. If you think you can, you can. If you think you cannot, you cannot. Like the captain of a ship, you decide the direction, and take action to steer it away from the comfort of the shore beyond the horizon. Make a definite decision to really take charge of your Internet marketing business today – and treat it like a business!

#3: Stop worrying. Stop worrying about things you cannot control such as what people think about you, or the resources you don’t have (money to invest, traffic, opt-in list subscribers, etc.). So stop complaining and whining about things that you cannot do anything about. Instead, start focusing on things that are within your control, and begin expecting good things.

#4: You deserve the best. Tell yourself “I deserve the best of everything.” Keep repeating these words and chant it like a mantra. Believe in it. You expect the very best in life. Do not short-change yourself. Keep doing it and I guarantee you will see a change in your life and your online income.

#5: There is no ‘try’. I want you to eliminate this one little word from your vocabulary now. The word is ‘Try’. If you try, you will never do it. It is either you do it or you don’t. There is no try. If you eliminate this word from your vocabulary, you will become a powerful creator. You’ll make things happen.

Changing your thought process and perception is the first step to your Internet marketing success. So the one conclusion I’d like you to take from this article is this: Get your Internet marketing mindset right and everything else will follow.

Suffering from procrastination, lack of motivation, lack of focus and entrepreneurial ADHD? Your internet marketing mindset is the most crucial ingredient that will either make or break your success in online marketing. Start re-writing your mindset by visiting: http://www.mindsetoptimizer.com

What to Look for in an Internet Marketing Coaching Program

Friday, October 28th, 2011

If you have been browsing resources on the internet about internet marketing techniques, then you already know that there are millions of sites offering information, tips and techniques. These sites profess to turn your online business into a money-spinner within no time. Many sites offer you internet marketing coaching for your business, and they surely do a good job of marketing themselves. As a newcomer, you might end up feeling very confused about which coaching course to choose. Since most of these internet marketing coaching programs are paid ones, you do not wish to lose your money and end up enrolling in a course that
ended up teaching you nothing of consequence and wasted your time too.

So, you need to ensure the following before joining an internet marketing coaching program:

Credentials: Do check out the credentials of the people offering the program. Are they actually “coaches?” By this I mean do they have any relevant coaching experience and training? Also, what is their experience and which businesses have they helped build. This will give you a fair idea whether the person teaching you actually deserves to teach you. If not, then steer clear of such self-proclaimed coaches.

Program: Does the program offer a transparent schedule of what will be taught? Look beyond the jargon and the promotional language and see whether it actually covers most of the areas that you are interested in. Does it teach you the basics of online internet marketing techniques? Also, it must have easy-to-understand illustrations and videos. The program must show you how to do things in a simple, lucid manner.

Support: This is a very crucial element of any coaching program, much more than you will realize now. As a newcomer, you will have many questions and going along the course, there will be times when you will be stuck and will have many queries. Your coaching program must offer you continuous support and a way in which all your queries are addressed immediately and not one week later. So look for email support, web conferences, expert help and webinars as a part of your coaching program.

Duration and Cost of the Program: Both of these must be clearly outlined right in the start and must be reasonable.

Group: Sometimes, in order to make more money, a lot of people are crammed into a group. This reduces the individual attention that each participant receives, thereby, adversely affecting the participant’s learning. So, look for small batch sizes so that you get value for your money.

If you have cross-checked the above, you can be assured that your internet marketing coaching program can actually help you in promotion of your business or website in a way that takes you to a path of profitability and growth. Join a good coaching program today!
