2009 is the Year For Fully Exploiting Internet Marketing and Social Media 2.0 For Your Business
In spite of the evolving economic stimulus packages making their way through Congress in Washington, the damage has likely already been done to your business over the past year, in terms of fewer clients and lost revenues. Do you want a new year with the same results as those in 2008? Or a new year with new and better results for success?
The answers to both questions are easy. If you prefer the first, then keep on doing what you’ve been doing. If you prefer to see much different results this year, then you’ll need to quickly step out of your comfort zone and start trying some new habits and strategies – leveraging new tools and techniques – to get those new results.
First, do you even know how your business did last year? We’ve talked to several people who don’t know if they pulled a profit or not. They just know that they paid their bills (or at least most of them). Ask your accountant or use your accounting software to discover how you did. Find where you spent most of the money you earned and how much income you made. Deduct what you spent from what you earned for a quick estimate of your success in 2008.
Second, create a forecast of what you’d like to see at 2009 year-end. If you want to make more money, how much more? Do you want a little more or a lot more? How do you want your business to grow, and what kinds of investment are needed?
Third, once you’ve determined your forecasts, who are the prospective buyers/clients that can bring you those numbers, and where are they hanging out – in real life, and online? This is called your “target audience”, or “target demographic”. Additionally, what do you have to do to reach that audience, how do they expect you to communicate with them? This begins your marketing plan, and is your roadmap to reaching your profit goals…but, of course, you have to actually execute the plan to be successful.
In our opinion, by far the most important part of your marketing plan in this very difficult and challenging economic climate is the online marketing component combined with social media – i.e. those things you can do to leverage the Internet and online Social Media tools to promote yourself, your business and your reputation with far less cost and much broader reach than traditional advertising and marketing mediums (like newspapers or radio).
This is where Internet Marketing professionals like Webmaster For Hire of West Palm Beach, Southern Florida or KME Internet Marketing of Washington DC can help. They assist clients and will assist you in creating an Internet Marketing strategies plan, based upon the above information and with the results we find in your “Competitive Analysis” report. The Competitive Analysis report shows what your competition is actually doing on the Internet. They can see where they’re linked, articles they’ve written, blogs they’ve posted to, and basically anywhere they’re putting their ads and promoting their goods or services. From a “Marketing Strategies Plan”, you can either execute the strategies yourself or can leverage our experts to execute them for you. Either way, you’ll not be sitting at a standstill, wondering why no one’s visiting your website or purchasing your product.
So it’s asked of you again…Do you want a new year with the same results or a new year with new and better results? The decision is yours!
