People are always seeking free internet marketing help and why not. If you can get information for nothing then that’s fine as long as it has some substance to it. At other times, if you are getting into the internet marketing game, you will be buying products, so here are some tips whether it be free internet marketing help or a product to be purchased.
1. Contact Information -
This is without doubt my number one bug bear with many sites. They have no contact information. How can you ask questions? How can you seek a refund if the product is not what it is purported to be? But more importantly, why is the site owner hiding behind anonymity? What have they got to hide?
2. Privacy Statement -
Does the site have a Privacy Statement that you can read? What are the terms? There may well be a newsletter sign up box on the site and this may even say that your information is safe, but how safe is it really? Look for the Privacy Statement and make sure you read it.
3. Terms of Service or Legal Statement -
Does the site have one of these? Does it set out the terms of using the site? What disclaimers are there in respect of future earnings from products? It doesn’t have to be extensive, but a site should have this document if it is selling products.
4. Test Response Times -
If you are going to buy a product and a contact form is available, then send the owner an email. Gauge the response time it takes them to get back to you because this will also be indicative of their support on products sold.
5. Support Facilities -
What support facilities exist on the site for products? From past experience I can tell you that no matter how good a product sounds on the Sales Page, you will always have questions about it, well almost always, subsequent to purchase. Support facilities are of paramount importance.
So there’s just a few tips on what to look out for on a web site and more particularly ones selling products. It’s unfortunate that a lot of internet marketing products do not enjoy a good reputation, but I believe that this could be substantially improved by site owners being more transparent with their clients and making full disclosure.
