Internet Marketing Basics – How to Get Started Very Quickly and Very Cheaply
If you are new to Internet Marketing you are probably confused and overwhelmed by the vast amount of information on the Internet. The difficulty is that in spite of all this information you just don’t know where to start. This article sets-out the basics of Internet Marketing but more importantly shows you where you can go to get the information and the tools to actually get started!
Your products
The first thing you will need is of course a product.
The people who make loads of money through Internet Marketing do that by creating, marketing and selling their own products. This can be very time consuming and expensive and I would not recommend this for a newcomer.
Most newcomers choose to sell other peoples products by becoming affiliates.
Affiliate Marketing means selling other peoples products and receiving a commission when you make a sale. There are thousands of products which you can sell and you can find them by entering Clickbank into you browser.
When you get to Clickbank click on Marketplace and you will find thousands of products for you to choose from. You can have a look at the company’s sales page and you can also see the amount of commission which you will receive on each sale.
You need to register with Clickbank but you will also be pleased to know that all this is free.
So, having chosen a product what do you do next?
You need to create a website
This is a daunting task for most people and many newcomers to Internet Marketing choose to pay other people to create a website for them. This is a good short-cut but it can be very expensive and the site rarely turns out to be exactly what they wanted.A website with all the “bells and whistles” is simply neither necessary nor desirable for someone just starting up their business.
A very simple website is all that is needed and such a website can be set-up very quickly and for free. I will tell you how later.
Now you need to do probably the most important part of Internet Marketing and you do this with an Autoresponder.
Autoresponders
After your customers have signed-up to your site you need to be able to save their details in order to contact them in the future with your offers.This is where you need something called an Autoresponder, which is an electronic method of contacting your customers by email.
Internet Marketers use this method to contact their list of potential customers as soon as they sign-up to the website and then contact them at pre-planned intervals. This is all done automatically and the system also keeps very detailed records of all your customers regarding which customers have bought what product and when etc.This enables you to test a marketing campaign and if necessary to change things to improve returns. One of the most popular Autoresponders is Aweber which costs $19 a month but they sometimes have a special offer of $1 for the first month.
