Internet Marketing – Is it Worth It?
This is a popular question that I get when talking to people who are looking to be internet marketers. One question I ask is what kind of marketer do you want to be; do you want to promote your own products, become an affiliate marketer and promote other peoples products or do you want to do both. I will discuss both types of internet marketing and explain the pros and cons of both.
Today niche marketing has become more and more popular as the internet continues to grow and expand worldwide. With more and more people becoming internet marketers many people ask me is it worth it. I always say yes. Many people think there is too much competition out there to compete with everybody who is trying to make money as an IM. This is simply not true. There are hundreds even thousands of different markets you can target to get the best keywords and sell good products. Creating your own product for one of these markets can be a hard task. Unless you have money to pay somebody to write an ebook or create a product for you it is very difficult to accomplish. This doesn’t mean you can’t create your own product or ebook it just means it will take a lot of time and work to complete. If you do end up creating your own niche marketing product you can make a significant amount of sales with your product.
Now affiliate marketing is probably the most popular form of internet marketing. Affiliate marketing involves taking someone’s product and promoting it using your unique affiliate link. One of the most popular affiliate networks is called ClickBank. ClickBank has over hundreds of thousands of publishers eagerly waiting for affiliates to promote their product. Each sale you make with a product you get X amount of dollars also called a commission. Now each product has a different commission percentage that you get; some you can get up to 80% commission and others you might only get 50% or lower. Most marketers usually try to go for the higher commission payout to make more money. This is up to you but I would recommend going for the higher percentage commission. There are other niche marketing affiliate networks you could join such as commission junction, paydotcom, and there are hundreds more you can join and earn extra money.
Now all you need to do is decide what form of marketing you want to do. You can create your own product and make all the money for yourself. Or you can promote other peoples products and only get a percentage of what the product costs. The choice is up to you, but whichever path you chose make sure you put a lot of effort and time into and you will see income flying into your account before you know it. So to answer the question is internet marketing worth it YES!
