Myth 2 – “Build it and they will come”.
All you need do it build a great website with whistles and bells and people will come flocking to it. The reality is, you need to actively seek visitors to your website through design and great content. This starts from the time you have your first idea, even before you have chosen a domain name. Planning is the step most people miss and you need to plan how to get visitors to your website and then follow it through.
Myth 3 – “You don’t have to pay for anything”.
Yes, the internet makes it cheaper than ever before to start your own business. But you still have to buy some things. Look on this as an investment. You will also have to invest your time. So you want to make sure that every penny spent and every hour you put into your business is worthwhile an used in the right places.
Understanding how a real business operates and dispelling the myths is the first step to online success. It means you can avoid the pitfalls of scams and get rich quick schemes and set realistic objectives.
