Australians are going to love Gold Coast SuperGP and in particular the A1 GP. SuperGP is a new event in Surfers Paradise Gold Coast that is held in October each year.
It is a great opportunity to roll up your sleeves and barrack not just for Holden or Ford but for Australia too!
A1 GP World Cup of Motorsport is the joint headline race in the Surfers Paradise SuperGP, which replaces Gold Coast Indy.
Why will you love SuperGP? Let me explain about the two races that comprise the event.
A1GP is a new concept in racing that is based around a standard Ferrari racing car and teams representing countries. There are many similarities between this and Formula 1 racing, but the variable that is removed is the money that the richer teams can throw at the technology in the cars.
The standard car and technology pits the teams and drivers against each other on a level playing field. The richest team or country cannot buy victory. Skill, dedication and sportsmanship will battle it out and that is something Australians love to watch, barrack for and celebrate.
A1 GP is a perfect complement to the other Aussie battle that will be happening at the Gold Coast SuperGP. Holden versus Ford in the V8 Supercars. Will we all be able to contain ourselves? Two motor racing battles on the one day? It is in our blood, we are battlers after all!
