Since the Internet first kicked off there have been unbelievable developments in terms if web functionality and capability. If we take a look at web designing and how websites looked and functioned 10 years ago, you won’t find much of a comparison to today websites.
Anyway, I want to provide a few tips and tricks to keeping your web design skills and creations up to scratch and to make sure that you stay with the times. There are so many designers around the world, creating amazing websites which are visually and technically outstanding…but where do the ideas come from? Does each and every web designer sit and think up every design concept from scratch? Of course not! Why re-invent the wheel when there are thousands of creations and designs already out there, made widely available with a quick Google search.
Researching Web Design Ideas
Ok, so your new client has asked for a cool navigation like the one that he/she saw on a website last week… let’s find out the URL of the ‘cool’ website and go take a look! You have just saved 3 hours conceptualization work by typing a few characters into your browser address bar:). Once we have seen the navigation that your client wants, let’s go Google a tutorial on it!
Right, so we’ve found the cool navigation, searched for a nice tutorial on the internet and now you’re going to build a mock-up using the step by step instructions provided to you.
As a fellow web designer I’m sure I can leave you to complete the tutorial steps, make your changes, and turn the ‘cool’ navigation that your first client liked, into a unique creation which your client will drool over!
