The Most Common Web Design Mistakes
There are certain mistakes which seem to be made over and over by those who are making their own websites rather than seeking the help of a professional web design agency. These are the mistakes that should be avoided…
One common mistake is to center all the material on your page, giving the website a look that is unprofessional. There is really no reason to design your website this way, especially when you consider that a full page left to right layout is always used for book and magazine text. When visitors are faced with a large amount of centered text, they think it looks odd and may click on their web browser’s back button because they simply are not used to the look of large chunks of text which has been centered.
Do not have music that plays on your website because then the site takes longer to load and not everyone will like the music that you select to play. Even if visitors bother to wait for your site to load, they will soon click away if they do not like the music that they are being forced to listen to. A better option if you must have music on your site is to have a noticeable play button at the top of the pages that the visitors can use to start and stop the music
Do not use JavaScript for any critical elements of your web pages since about a fifth of all Web users are not able to or do not want to run JavaScript. Any problems which a visitor to your site encounters sends a clear message to them that you are not a real professional who takes the time to fix the problems or update the material you are presenting. So, by using JavaScript, you will potentially be losing 20% of visitors to your website within seconds of them arriving at your site.
